The
Dominican
Republic has a coast
of 1.300 kilometers, of which 1.000
are beaches… When one knows
the effect of the golden sand and
the sun, one can think that the tourism
fairies jumped to this New World cradle.
But this island, usualy called « Santo
Domingo » the name of its
capital, does not have just its superb
beaches as the only asset…
The country offers a landscape diversity
that is unique within the Caribbean
area. There is the sea, the forest
and, in addition, the Dominican Republic
is the only Antilles island that has
a « true » mountain :
the Duarte Hill, with a peak of 3.275
metres and allowing all the « ing »
nowadays so much « in » :
trekking, canyoning, rafting.
